Ah, but isn't that the same as Urban Fantasy? Not really. Urban Fantasy primarily focuses on a strong female heroine pulled from her ordinary world into a battle between the forces of good and evil. I prefer to redeem rather than vanquish those dark forces traditionally held to be evil and unredeemable. When I’m not exploring the dark side of life, I’m exploring relationships outside traditional acceptability. If you can think of it, I’ve probably considered writing it.
So, if you’re willing to take a walk into the dark, explore the steamier side of life, I invite you to look around and see if something appeals to you. Just remember, as in the words of Freidrich Nietzsche, “Anything done for love is beyond good or evil.” You might be surprised by what you find during your visit.
